Kristen and Kimberly Ward are sisters who have been in ministry together since 2004, but their passion for imparting hope to people who are hurting started when they were teenagers. Both graduated from Frontier School of the Bible and then immediately began a cross-cultural missionary internship which led them to join United Indian Mission full time. Kristen then went on to recieve her Master's degree in Biblical Counseling and Kimberly received training  to teach life and faith principles through wilderness adventures.

The life-changing opportunities with UIM gave them many ministry opportunities including: Working with women and youth on the Navajo, Yakama, Havasupai, and Zuni Reservations; Phoenix Inner City; Youth Camps in Canada, the United States, and Mexico; and Mexican Tribal & Urban Church Development. While working with UIM they attended a language school in Guadalajara, Mexico which lead them to join a church planting team working among the Latin American immigrants in Colorado.

In 2009 Kristen and Kimberly joined The Ethnos Commission, which is a church planting ministry reaching out to Native and Immigrant people groups. They partnered with church leaders to build relationships with women and youth for the purpose of counseling and discipleship. As they continued to deepen these ministry relationships, it became evident that they needed to develop a more intentional focus on guiding individuals through the process of genuine heart change... with the goal of transforming hearts and restoring lives. God began to plant seeds in their hearts for an independent ministry dedicated specifically to reaching people with trauma histories in order to address the issues that are distorting their view of God and hindering their spiritual growth.

In 2013, they took the first steps of faith to begin Mariposa Ministries. The need for restoration ministry is almost overwhelming and the opportunities are endless. They are excited to see what God has in store and how He is going to use them. With hearts that are eager to serve, their passion and vision for this ministry is growing every day.
